I am so grateful that this company was the first to pop up on my google search for a garage door repair! It was a Sunday afternoon of all days and after 2pm, I was panicked with a garage door that had lost its rollers and I couldn't get closed. I thought for sure I had no hope! Mr. Edwards was very pleasant and seemed competent, but on examining the installation after he left, there are several things I'm not happy about. Most important, I'm concerned about how the opener is attached to the ceiling of my garage. The ceiling is old plaster and lathe and is not all that strong. The old garage door motor was attached in six places; the new install only has two. It's possible that Mr. Edwards used a stud finder and has attached the bracket to a structural member - that would make me feel better about it, but I'm not sure that's true. Moreover, the bracketing used to hold the motor in place has been bent and twisted into place to the point where the bolts attaching it couldn't be tightened down properly. The attachment approach looks completely jury rigged. A second complaint is that a numeric keypad opener was provided that looks like it's second hand; the body of it is white but there are deep black marks all over it that won't come off with soap and water. We have an expensive wooden garage door for aesthetic reasons and this keypad looks terrible. The two remotes we were provided are mismatched and look like they are just refurbished extras rather than new ones meant to be with the motor. And finally, there is an indoor keypad /control switch that Mr. Edwards attached to the frame of a door that goes from the garage into a back room, and the switch housing is wider than the door frame so it protrudes into the entryway by half an inch or so. We use the back room to store furniture and at times carry things through the door that just barely fit; I am concerned that we will break the switch housing because of this overlap. Otherwise, the door works very smoothly, and I think he did a good job adjusting and lubricating the mechanism. Steve

We were very happy with Precision of San Diego from start to end. The salesrep,Mark, who came to our house to provide an estimate was extremely knowledgeable about the product options, came well prepared with samples, was friendly and engaging and we never felt pressured to move towards a specific product or up-sell. The price that was quoted was fair and reasonable (we got 3 other estimates) so we purchased a 16x7 and 8x7 set of doors. The installation was scheduled on the day that was originally estimated. Gabriel, the installer, notified us of his arrival time, showed up as promised, and worked steadily and professionally throughout the day. We never felt that he was cutting corners in order to finish earlier. He was friendly, attentive, and enjoyable to be around. It wasn't broken door spring! The problem was the wall switch wiring and the switch was not mounted correctly to wall. Needed screw anchors in the dry wall to securely mount the switch. Tech adjusted wall switch wiring and added screw anchors in the dry wall. He said the wires were secured to tight.
